Group Certification Procedure
STEP 5
Maintaining Your Certification.

Foundational and Certified Group Theraplay Specialists are required to maintain active membership with the Theraplay Association. Learn more and renew here.

Certified Group Theraplay Specialists must complete a CE requirement to maintain active certification every three years.
STEP 4
Full Certification.

Minimum of 8 supervised group sessions and 16 unsupervised group sessions* (all sessions must be held in person). 8th (minimum) session submitted is considered your final review and is sent to TTI. Certification requires recommendation of supervisor.
STEP 3
Complete Foundational Group Theraplay Specialist requirements.

Minimum of 8 supervised group sessions and 16 unsupervised group sessions* (all sessions must be in-person). 8th (minimum) session submitted is considered your Foundational review and is sent to TTI. Certification requires recommendation of supervisor.
STEP 2
Apply to Practicum.

Submit application fee, registration form and documents. Theraplay UK can help you find a Theraplay UK approved supervisor if needed.
STEP 1
Complete a Group Theraplay training.

Complete Group Theraplay, Sunshine Circles, or Level One Theraplay & MIM and one day Group Theraplay training.
